Can I Delete My Club?​

Yes! Whether you're just testing Target Score or permanently closing your club, we've got you covered.

Club Owners Only

Only the club owner can delete a club. If you're an event manager, you'll need to contact the club owner.

How Does Deletion Work?​

Don't worry - Target Score is smart about deletions. Here's a quick comparison:

If Your Club is Empty (Just Testing)​

You created a club just to try things out?

Perfect! Just click delete and we'll completely remove it. No mess, no fuss.

  • All club data is permanently removed
  • You won't see it in your club list anymore
  • It's like it never existed

If Your Club Has Events and Data​

You've run competitions and have historical results?

We protect your data! When you delete, we:

  • Hide your club from public view (like making it private)
  • Keep ALL your historical data safe
  • Let you restore it anytime you want

Think of it like putting your club "on pause" rather than deleting it forever.

Just Testing Target Score?

Go ahead and create a club! When you're done testing, just delete it. We automatically handle everything for you - no worries about data or cleanup.

What Will I Lose If I Delete?​

Empty Club (No Events Yet)​

Everything gets removed:

  • Club profile
  • Member list
  • Settings

Can you get it back? No - but there's nothing to save anyway!

Club With Events and Results​

Nothing! We keep everything safe:

  • ✅ All your events and competitions
  • ✅ All scores and results
  • ✅ All club records
  • ✅ Your member list
  • ✅ All your settings
  • ✅ Your custom website (if you have one)

Can you get it back? Yes! Just click "Restore" whenever you're ready.

Important

If you created events and want them gone forever, you'll need to delete each event individually first. Then we can permanently delete the club.

How to Delete Your Club​

Step 1: Go to Your Clubs Page​

  1. Log in to Target Score
  2. Click on Your Clubs in the menu
  3. Find the club you want to delete

Step 2: Click the Delete Button​

Look for the Delete Club button at the bottom of your club's profile card.

Step 3: Review What Will Happen​

A window pops up showing:

  • Your club's name
  • How many events you have
  • How many results you have
  • Whether we'll permanently delete or just hide your club

If your club is empty:

  • You'll see a green message: "This club will be permanently deleted"
  • Just click Delete Club to confirm

If your club has data:

  • You'll see a yellow warning: "This club will be hidden but data preserved"
  • Type the word DELETE in the box
  • Then click Delete Club
Why Do I Need to Type DELETE?

We want to make sure you really mean it! This extra step prevents accidental deletions of clubs with valuable historical data.

Step 4: Done!​

You'll see a confirmation message:

  • Empty club: "Club permanently deleted successfully"
  • Club with data: "Club hidden. You can restore it anytime."

How to Restore a Deleted Club​

Good news! If your club had events and data, bringing it back is super easy.

Step 1: Find Your Deleted Club​

  1. Go to Your Clubs
  2. Look for clubs that appear dimmed/faded
  3. You'll see a yellow banner saying the club is deleted

Step 2: Click Restore​

  1. Click the Restore Club button in the yellow banner
  2. Confirm that you want to restore it
  3. Done! Your club is back, exactly as it was

Everything comes back:

  • All events and competitions
  • All results and scores
  • All members
  • All settings
  • Your custom website

It's like the deletion never happened!

Common Questions​

I just want to try Target Score. Should I create a club?

Absolutely! Create a club, play around, and delete it when done. It's that simple.

I'm permanently closing my club. What should I do?

If you want to keep your historical results for members to view, just delete it. The data stays safe. If you really want everything gone forever, delete all your events first, then delete the club.

Can event managers delete clubs?

No, only the club owner can delete clubs. Event managers can manage events but not delete the whole club.

I deleted by accident! Can I get it back?

If your club had any events or data, yes! Just click the restore button. If it was an empty club, unfortunately no - but there wasn't any data to save anyway.

How long can I keep my club deleted?

We keep your deleted club for 90 days. After that anytime we can permanently delete it to keep our systems clean.

Will my club show up in searches while deleted?

Nope! Your club is completely hidden from:

  • Public searches
  • Club listings
  • Event calendars

It's invisible to everyone except you (the owner).

Can I still edit my deleted club?

Yes! While a club is deleted, you can still edit its information. You just can't create new events or accept registrations.
